Qualifications
The Project Manager must have:
• A very strong background in OHV recreation, either professionally or as an OHV recreation advocate, with an excellent understanding of the issues and challenges facing the OHV community both locally and nationally.
• A good understanding of land management agencies and the processes used to determine how public lands are managed and OHV trails are created.
• The ability to ride off-highway motorcycles, ATVs, or ROVs, preferably all types.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• The ability to present information verbally to large groups.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel approximately once or twice each month, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to converse easily with a wide variety of individuals in a variety of situations.
• The ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
• The ability to provide a home office workspace.
Responsibilities
The Responsibilities of the NOHVCC Project Manager will include:
• Act as project leader and work closely with all NOHVCC staff to plan, coordinate and implement NOHVCC Workshops.
• Provide advice, assistance, materials, and other information to NOHVCC State Partners, Associate Partners, recreationists, agency and regulatory managers and planners, legislative members and staffers, and others as requested by e-mail, phone, or other means. Most information can be shared verbally or electronically but the physical distribution of printed materials will be coordinated with staff in the Great Falls office.
• Support the NOHVCC Teams by facilitating Team discussions, providing materials and advice, and performing tasks relevant to Team projects.
• Manage and assist in the development of projects such as educational programs; management documents and manuals; OHV training, education videos and Public Service Announcements (PSAs); and other tools to promote responsible OHV recreation as assigned by the Executive Director.
• Act as project leader and work closely with the IT manager and other staff to maintain the NOHVCC Electronic OHV Information Library. This includes, but is not limited to, review of existing documents, selection of new documents, and identifying needs for additional documents.
• Attend and support various OHV and trail advocacy related events across the nation as a representative of the NOHVCC.
• Provide input and support to NOHVCC staff to assist them in completing their tasks.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
