ATV DOMINATRIX DEFINED
Autumn Stapleton aka MudGoddess
On Saturday the 19th, what began as a crisp spring morning, quickly began to heat up as even the sun’s beaming rays were invoked by Mud Mania 2005’s competition of Rider vs. Bog. With the inclusion of SRA, IRS, Unlimited, and the Women’s Class divisions, the Mud Mania Mud Bog offered spectator’s not only entertainment but diversity as well. As the event’s starting time neared, rider after rider lined up for the ever popular and thrilling Mud Bog Events that are Mud Mania. As the bog area was quickly enthralled with riders and bikes, a brief scan of the anxious and eager audience revealed that this year’s event was not only a huge success but had also attracted a truly impressive number of female riders.
Sporting blonde, brunette, red, and even multicolored hair with small, medium, or large builds; the women of Mud Mania came in all varieties! However, the vast attendance and diversity of the women were not the only noticeable differences of this year’s event. The women attending Mud Mania 2005 exhibited self-confidence at a much higher level than previously observed at the 2004 Mud Mania Event and many other large atv events. This exuberance of self-confidence was evidenced by the increased sightings of female driver’s with their male counterparts seated behind them, females commanding their own bikes, and the number of entrants to the women’s mud bog.
As the mud bog began, the promoters of Mud Mania once-again followed tradition and allowed the women’s class to proceed first. As on-lookers watched, woman and pit scowled at one another, each issuing a widely perceived challenge and clear threat of domination to the other. Indeed the bike’s grill even seemed to be bearing teeth in eager anticipation of the challenge that lay before it and the wind itself seemed to whisper of the pits desire to swallow any victim who dared to displace its’ thickened muddy water. However, these women came to compete. Moreover, they came to conquer! They were not to be deterred. Woman after woman accepted the pit’s provocation with no manifestation of fear or hesitation. As they thrashed through the bog causing it to spit and slur in agony, the riders offered the crowd zest and charm compliments of the ceaseless marvels of woman. This thrill of sport and competition was sustained throughout the race with a difference of just under 1.42 seconds defining 1st place above 2nd place. The riders each offered their own exhibition of grand skills, impressive bikes, or both. As if the exhibition of skill wasn’t enough, some of the riders proceeded to further entertain the crowd with a display of enthusiasm over their domination of the bog.
This was demonstrated best by the last contestant and first-place winner of the women’s Mud Bog, Summer A. Fully aware that she had successfully subjugated the once haughty mud pit within the fastest time securing the 1st place title, Summer had no shame in her thrill! Standing on the back rack of her bike, with her back tires just outside the pit, immediately after her run, Summer performed her own victory dance! Summer and the enthusiastic crowd appeared to be fed by the adrenaline rush, the pride, and the sheer delight of the women’s mud bog competitions. As the sounds of fascination and fun reverberated through the park, the women of Mud Mania, once-again demonstrated the wonderment of women instilling pride in all of women-kind.
