ATV Trail Riding Must Haves:
1 Food and Water- You should always pack a lunch and water. Camebaks can carry up to three liters of water and they have pockets.
2 Proper riding gear- Helmet DOT certified, goggles, gloves, boots and long sleeve jersey. Also we recommend a good chest protector.
3 FIRST AID KIT
4 Trail maps- It helps from getting lost and will benefit if you need to call for help.
5 Cell Phone and GPS- these are a must!!!
6 Tools- This includes spark plugs, towrope, tire repair kit, wire, tape, knife ect.
7 Other stuff- pack a whistle flash light sunscreen, insect repellent and lighter

easy trails and dirt roads, and many challenging 4x4 trails
(my preference). Open year round, but very limited during

required, but there's no admission charge. Several different
access paths, but the most popular is the county-provided
parking area.

Details: 20,000 acres of hills, hollers, powerlines, wooded trails,
hillclimbs and fire roads. Excellent place to ride, but many
areas are to diffucult for small chidren, ladies or the
underpowered crowd. 2-strokes, 4x4 atvs, or big-bores will
have a blast. Don't ride alone here! All of the trails are
natural terrain (read: rocky,rutted, steep and ever-changing!)
no facilities at the trailhead, but you can get gas or food
at exit 299!
How to get there:Take Interstate 65 to exit 299, go Northeast approx 2-3
miles to Johnson Crossing crossroads, turn right. Go approx
2 miles to where the power lines cross the road. Turn left
into parking lot/staging area. This ride spot is in Cullman
County, approx 45 miles north of birmingham, or 45 miles
south of the Decatur/Huntsville area.

How to get there: Travel up I-59 North toward Gadsden/Atlanta. Take exit number 154 (Springville/ Odenville). Turn left and go over the interstate. You will now be on AL-174/Marietta Rd. You will go about 7/10 mile and come to a four way stop. Go straight through the four way. You will stay on this road for almost 4 miles. AL-174/Marietta Rd. will turn into Murphees Valley Rd. This will take you up Pine Mountain, careful the road makes a U-turn half way up the mountain. When you reach the top take a left onto Pine Mountain Rd. "The Ridge" will be the fourth driveway on your right.

Located in Chilton County, the geographical center of Alabama, Minooka Park provides a convenient getaway for families. Minooka Park is primarily an ATV/Off-road motorcycle park with miles of trails dedicated to off-road enthusiasts. The ATV trails feature breath taking scenery and varying terrain. However, there is much more to Minooka Park than ATV trails; whether your interest lies in fishing for largemouth bass in Minooka Lake, hiking through natural areas in hopes of spotting a white-tail deer, grilling out under one of our many pavilions, or just relaxing on our scenic deck overlooking the lake, Minooka Park has something for everyone. A one mile walking trail around the lake with plenty of resting points provides a fun way to get your exercise. Primitive camping is also available for those who just aren’t ready to go home.

How to get there:Follow old Glen Highway from Palmer and turn left at the only 4 way intersection with a light. Follow it until the pavement ends. Take the next left, it is a small trail and opens up to a parking area with places to unload.

How to get there:Take I-10 south to Casa Grande, get off on first Casa Grande exit. Go right on Pinal and then half a mile turn left on ValVista.Go over the over pass and at the bottom turn left on dirt rode.The bowl will be on right side. You can see it from the freeway.

Details: CITY LAKE TRAILS: Heavily wooded trails, a small creek about three miles long with trails looping and twisting around. The trail system is a mediokre type trail. Ruts and many fallen trees accomadate the trails. Usually muddy after rains, you will usually see other ATV'ers and off-roadersin all the four seasons. The creek runs into the lake, it is a fairly small lake. You can fish and hunt there if you feel like, it isn't in a natioal forest and none of the fish and game commision rangers go out there. Adults will find the trails pretty easy, kids will have plenty of fun zooming down the narrow trails. All in all it's a fun place.

Details: There are over 40 miles of trails through the beautiful Quachita Mountains with scenic mountain top views and crystal clear rock bottom creeks. The trails are designated with signs stating beginners, intermediate, or experienced riders. At the park heads are Quachita National Forest provided maps of the riding area. Anytime of the year is excellent for riding atv's. Some trails are wide enough for jeeps/trucks. Camping is allowed anywhere but at the trail heads. There are many beautiful camp sites in the mountain valley creeks.
How to get there:Take Hwy 8 to Mena, turn south on Hwy 375. Go approximately 10 miles to the trail head on the left side of the road. There are more than one trail head, but this is probably the easiest one to get to if you're not familiar with the area.

Details: Area contains very little soft sand and is mostly hard dirt.Lots of trails on both flat land and hills. Very large riding area to include a long soft sand river bed that will take you to Lake Hesperia so bring your fishing pole. No fishing license required but it is a pay lake stocked with trout once a week. This is the perfect spot for Quads and ATC's. Best to drive out friday afternoon and set up camp...rde all night, then ride the next morning. Starts to get busy around 10:00 a.m. on saturday. Nobody hassles you either.
How to get there:Take I-15 north from LA area to the 138(Lake Silverwood exit)and turn right. Follow winding road until you see the Lake Silverwood bait&tackle; store on the right(about 5 miles).When you see the store, take a left at the street that is right across the street from the store and drive about 2-4 miles up that road until you see a street sign that says Summit Valley road. You will also see some round metal tubing structure put there by the gas co. Turn right and you are there.

The entrance to the park is one mile north on Peace Valley Road, to the left. (If traveling south on I-5, turn right under the freeway.)
IMPERIAL SAND DUNES

Most visitors access the area off Camp Rock Road driving north off of Highway 247. Staging for many competitive events is at Anderson Dry Lake, about 10 miles north of Highway 247 just east of Camp Rock Road. There is also access north of Highway 247, driving east toward Yucca Valley, at Bessemer Mine Road (to get to Soggy Dry Lake) and Boone Road. All of these roads are graded dirt roads.
LARK CANYON

The entrance to Mammoth Bar is located on Old Foresthill Road. The easiest access if off of I-80 north of Auburn. Take the Foresthill exit off I-80 and go east about 2.5 miles to the Old Foresthill Road. Turn right on Old Foresthill and the entrance is about 1.5 miles on the left.
MOJAVE NATIONAL PRESERVE

Plaster City West OHV entrace is about a mile or so past Plaster City on the north side of Evan Hewes (your right). From the North end of Imperial Valley: Take Hwy 86/78 to S30 (Forrester Rd), turn right. Proceed to Imler Road, turn right and follow until it dead-ends at Evan Hewes (Old 80). How to get there:North on I-5 past Redding. Take Shasta Dam off ramp. Follow signs to Shasta Dam. Drive accross Dam and follow road down hill to staging area.
SPANGLER HILLS Ridgecrest
(760) 384-5400 DIRECTIONS: From the south, use US 395 to the town of Red Mountain and then take the Trona-Red Mountain Road 7 miles north to the boundary of the OHV area. Teagle Wash, a great place to unload and begin your riding is another two miles north. From the City of Ridgecrest, take the Trona-Red Mountain Road from SR178. Spangler can also be accessed from within the City of Ridgecrest by traveling south aproximately 3 miles on College Heights Boulevard to the OHV area north boundary.
STODDARD VALLEY OHV AREA

Most visitors access the area to the east off I-15 at the Outlet Center Drive exit (Sidewinder Road) or at the Hodge Road exit. From California 247 (Barstow Road exit) about 10 miles south of Barstow, turn off on Stoddard Wells Road or 15 miles south of Barstow at the access route behind the Slash X Cafe. All these entrances are dirt roads.
SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN OPEN AREA

(There will be houses on the right - south side of Evan Hewes - where you will be turning.) Follow Huff up to the Superstitions. Wheeler Rd. is a dirt road just before you go past the Superstitions to the playground. Turn left on Wheeler. Veer to the left. Follow the road around and when you come to the fork, veer to the right....follow down to the playground/competition area. From the North end of Imperial Valley: Take Hwy 86/78 to S30 (Forrester Rd), turn right. Proceed to Imler Road, turn right and follow to Wheeler Rd (past the big dip and just past the Superstitions) and make a right. Veer to the left. Follow the road around and when you come to the fork, veer to the right...follow down to the playground/competition area.

Follow Hwy 74 east for approximately 25 miles to the Forest Service Station at El Cariso. Continue past the station for approximately 1000 feet to the intersection with Killen Road. Turn right and follow the road south for approximately 9 miles to the Wildomar OHV area.

Details: High mountain/forest with lots of water crossings. Skill level is intermeadiate to expert. Trail network is over 100 miles of single track with lots of water crossings and rocks. Good camping at Italian creek campground. Late sprint to early fall.
How to get there:HY 285 west through South Park CO. Turn right at the intersection of HY 50 and HY 285. Go one mile into Buena Vista, turn left at stop light. (road leading to cottonwood pass) Go over Cottonwood pass, at the base of the west side is Taylor Park store, go right around lake to Italin creek C.G. or left to Tin Cup. Trail heads both directions.

How to get there:From Denver: I70 (US 40) northwest about 67 miles, turn right
on HWY 125 heading northwest about 51 miles into the town of Walden.
Continue on HWY 125 northwest out of Walden about 20 miles to
county road 6, turn right and go about 10 miles (follow signs to sand dunes).

Details: This area is so cool. The best time to go there is spring when its worm . What ever you do don't go on sundays. They have races. There is about 3 to 4 miles of dirt roads to explore. And there's branches off of those roads.
How to get there:I95 south to route 13 Then you will come to St. george's bridge. Just before there is a road going off to the right. Then there should be a sign on the right hand side.
Follow those roads just passed the sign. (dirt roads). Have fun!
