NOHVCC Announces Route Designation Workshop in Missoula MT
The Route Designation Workshop series is in full swing for 2007. Starting in February we held one in the lower part of Michigan then on to Nebraska . We had good turnouts especially in Nebraska with winter hitting hard. These workshops are filling a crucial gap in information on both the Agency side as well as the public sector and are an good investment in the future of OHV recreation.
Here is a quote from a note sent to Russ Ehnes by Dan Nitzel Co Founder of the Nebraska Off-Highway Vehicle Assoc.:
“After the workshop we elected our new chapter officers. We also began developing our own plan on how to maintain trails this year, how to get funding, and how to begin documenting the existing routes. Later this year we will begin talking about laying out an entire trail system at the Bessey Ranger District and at the McKelvie National Forest .” I could easily ramble on and on about the workshop. I wanted to write about a few of the highlights and thank everyone.
In closing, I want to thank those who presented the workshop and the sponsors, MIC, SVIA, ARRA, AMA BRC and UFWDA for helping sponsor this great workshop. “
Upcoming Route Designation Workshops:
Albuquerque NM March 1-4
Hot Springs AR March 8-11
Missoula MT April 19-22
In closing thank you for your support and getting the word out. Also if any one knows of a forest that could use one of these workshops please let us know.
