Team MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper's Dustin Wimmer delivered another championship-worthy performance at the 8th round of the ITP Tires/ Moose Racing AMA/ ATV A National Motocross Championship in Blountville, Tn. Wimmer (#191) and his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 successfully swept both motos, with teammates Doug Gust (#55) and Chad Wienen (#44) also putting in strong ATV performances.

Wimmer established his speed early in the weekend when he set the fastest time on his way to winning the Top Qualifier award. When the gate dropped for the first race, however, it was Team Rockstar / MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper ATV teammate Doug Gust leading the field into the first turn. Gust's lead wouldn't last long, though, as Wimmer overtook him and set out for the top spot of the podium. Midway through the race, Wimmer passed for the lead and he and his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 set an unrivaled pace to take the checkered flag.
Wimmer also had an excellent start in moto two rounding the 1st turn in second place. He quickly passed for the lead and rode off to his fifth overall win of the season. Gust finished the day in the fourth spot (3-5) and Wienen finished his first race back from injury an impressive and solid fifth (4-8).
Wimmer's win extends his lead in the championship standings to 67 points with just three races remaining. Suzuki is still dominating the Manufacturers Cup with a 56 point advantage.
"My Suzuki worked excellent this weekend," Wimmer said. "It was really hooked up and was going great. Both starts I got top two, so I didn't have to work my way up too much. I passed into the lead about halfway through the first moto, and five laps into the second moto, so everything went really good!"
Team Manager Kory Ellis was excited by the team's result. "The day went well, Chad Wienen came back from missing a race. He's all healed up so we're really happy with that. Doug Gust rode a really good race - real consistent all day long, consistent lap times. Wimmer... man, he just dominated! He didn't get the holeshot but he came out second both motos. He had to pass for the lead and then he simply checked out on everybody. He just completely dominated the whole field. It's obvious that nothing can touch the Suzuki QuadRacer's performance. Combine a machine of that quality and a rider as fast as Wimmer and it's a tough combination to beat."
Congratulations also go out to the amateur Suzuki winners:?
