Chris Borich Pulls off Second GNCC ATV Win at Steele Creek Bob Boop
Yoshimura Suzuki ATV rider Chris Borich brought home his second win of the 2010 ATV Grand National Cross Country season. The Steele Creek track is an 11.2-mile circuit that is rugged and narrow, with creek crossings, rocks and hills, making passing a grueling task.
Borich found himself trailing other racers for most of the race, patiently awaiting his chance to make a pass. With a lap and a half to go, Borich took advantage of a mistake by one of the leading racers to make his move. His Yoshimura-powered Suzuki QuadRacer R450 ATV and smart racing proved to be his most valuable tools in winning this race.
“I got a good start; Yoshimura gave me a good motor that pulls,” Borich said. “I just sat back and waited for people to make mistakes, because it really was a one-line track. I was able to capitalize on some mistakes by other racers and come home with a victory. We’re going to keep getting that Yoshimura Suzuki back on the podium this year.”
Borich holds a five-point lead in the series with ten rounds remaining. Chris dominated the 2009 GNCC series, winning nine races and finishing the season with a 97-point lead over second place, and he’s continuing that success into the 2010 season. The forecast of Chris conquering yet another GNCC title on his Yoshimura-powered Suzuki is looking very good. Next up is Big Buck Farm in Union, South Carolina, on April 11.
