Bell Sports, a leading marketer of helmets and accessories for bicycling and powersports, said it has agreed in principal to be acquired by Fenway Partners, Inc., a private equity firm. Fenway also owns Riddell Sports Group, a provider of football helmets and other branded sporting goods products and services. Bell Sports and Riddell will be combined to form one of the world’s largest protective headgear and related accessories companies.

AMA OPPOSES SHUTDOWN OF 4 MILLION ACRES TO OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES

Kathleen Clarke, Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is confirmed as the Keynote speaker at the ATV EXPO and World’s Fair Industry Breakfast to be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The Industry Breakfast meeting, which will be the first gathering of the ATV Industry as a whole, will be held October 14, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. before the grand opening of the Expo.

Cactus Flats staging area was originally a mixing table (the rock and sand were used for highway projects) that created a large open area that attracted OHV’s (Off Highway vehicles). In 1989 the U.S. Forest Service designated the area for OHV recreation to keep the recreational traffic out of the neighborhoods and onto a designated road/trail system.
